fall (의도치 않게) 떨어지는 자체

fall down 서 있는 상태에서 넘어지는 경우

 

A: What happended to your knee?

B: I fell down the stairs.

A: Oh, no. Are you okay? Looks like you scraped your knee.

B: Yeah, I'm good. I didn't fall as hard as my stocks, though. 

 

My favorite clock broke. It fell from the wall.

Hey, your picture frame on the bedside table fell down.

 

그녀의 발 밑에 엎드려 미안하다고 말했어. 그는 털썩 주저 앉았어.

He fell to her feet and said sorry. / He fell to his feet.

fall off 어딘가에 붙어 있는 상태에서 떨어져 나가는 뉘앙스

fall out of 안에 있다가 밖으로 떨어지는 뉘앙스

 

What did you fall over? 어디 걸려 넘어졌어?

She fell asleep in class and fell off the chair. 의자에서 떨어졌어.

He fell out of the car.

fall out of a plane / jump out of a plane

 

He's not as good as he used to be. I think he fell off. 감을 잃은것 같아

- I think he still got it. 아직 살아있다고 생각해.

 

have a fallout 관계가 끝났음
